Sony has announced a new preorder promotion for the PlayStation 4 version of Grand Theft Auto V that sweetens the deal for gamers looking for a digital copy of the open-world title.
According to the game's product page on Sony's website, anyone who preorders the digital version of GTA V for PS4 through PlayStation Network will receive $300,000 in bonus virtual currency for Grand Theft Auto Online, the multiplayer mode for GTA V. This is in addition to the $1,000,000 currency bonus given to all players who preorder the game, regardless of platform or format.
The one stipulation for the promotion is that you'll need to preorder GTA V on PS4 by November 3 to receive the $300,000 bonus GTA Online cash injection.
Microsoft has not announced a similar preorder promotion for the Xbox One version of GTA V. It is possible that Sony's bonus cash deal for PS4 digital preorders is the special perk that the company teased back at E3 in June.
GTA V launches for PS4 and Xbox One on November 18, while the PC version will be released in January 2015. The new versions of the game feature a raft of improvements, including better visuals, expanded draw distances, and denser traffic. In addition, existing GTA Online characters from Xbox 360 andPlayStation 3 will transfer to the new versions of the game, regardless of which platform you choose to upgrade to.
